About Us
Our Mission
To provide a social and educational opportunity for youth of all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds to participate in a musical ensemble, and to support the community through musical performance.
Our History
Richmond Youth Brass Band was started in 2022 to give students from the instrumental music programme at Richmond West Primary School a place to continue to develop their skills. This is growing to include musicians from other schools, and it is hoped that RYBB will soon be able to establish a beginner band programme for new players.
Our Music Director
The band is directed by local Richmond resident, musician, composer, conductor and educator, Adam Arnold. After graduating with Honours from the University of Melbourne, Adam spent several years performing with the Royal Australian Navy Band. He has spent the last 10 years teaching instrumental music in schools, including founding the Richmond West Primary School Brass Band programme in 2019. Adam performs with Sydney City Brass and Victoria Brass, as well as performing as a freelance brass multi instrumentalist around Melbourne.
